Jayson Castro leads TNT past tired Eastern in PBA semis

TNT Tropang Giga's Jayson Castro led his team to a 109-93 victory over Eastern in the PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinals on Thursday, February 6.

Castro, who turned 38 recently and was criticized by coach Chot Reyes for a poor performance against Rain or Shine, responded with a stellar game of 16 points, three rebounds, and three assists in 19 minutes, with 13 points coming in the third quarter alone.

Reyes praised Castro's ability to accept feedback and use it to his advantage, noting that such directness is for the good of the team.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson led all scorers with 31 points, while Rey Nambatac added 18 points in support of Castro’s efforts.

Eastern struggled after playing two games across different countries within a span of 24 hours, resulting in their third consecutive loss and ending their PBA campaign.
