Caritas Manila distributes PHP1B GCs to 800K poor families

Caritas Manila has distributed PHP1 billion worth of gift certificates to over 800,000 urban poor families in Metro Manila and Luzon through its Oplan Damayan program.

The distribution was carried out by 'spiritual front-liners' including priests, nuns, and lay volunteers from various parishes across Mega-Manila.

The GCs were given to 4 million people affected by the enhanced community quarantine implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Caritas Manila distributed the GCs in 10 dioceses and sub-dioceses within Metro Manila, covering 633 parishes.
