Carina floods 178 villages in Pampanga, displaces 605 families

Heavy rain from Super Typhoon Carina has affected 178 villages across 13 towns and one city in Pampanga province on Wednesday, July 24.

Flooding ranging from 1 to 3 feet prompted the relocation of 605 families or 2,264 individuals to evacuation centers in their respective barangays.

Governor Dennis Pineda emphasized the urgent need for aid distribution, particularly in coastal barangays severely affected by the storm and where infrastructure damage includes a breached dike in Sapang Inuman Baka near Lacmit in Arayat town.

Local government units are continuing relief operations with over 15,000 food packs distributed to date, addressing the aftermath of the heavy rains that have caused agricultural damage worth P52.9 million.

The provincial disaster risk reduction and management council (PDRRMC) reported these developments, highlighting ongoing challenges faced by residents and the need for continued support.
