Biz groups urge Congress to pass P1.3-trillion ARISE bill

More than 40 local and foreign business groups are urging Congress to pass the Accelerated Recovery and Investments Stimulus for the Economy (ARISE) bill.

The ARISE bill aims to spend P1.3 trillion over three years to support workers and businesses affected by the pandemic, including a budget of P650 billion for infrastructure projects and P20 billion for mass testing.

Business groups say the bill would create 1.5 million jobs through infrastructure projects and financial assistance, and build on existing measures implemented by President Duterte and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
