Blue Eagles come from behind to beat UE in UAAP men's volleyball

The Blue Eagles secured a comeback victory over the University of the East in their UAAP Season 87 men's volleyball campaign on Saturday morning at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Trailing in the third set, Ateneo head coach Vince Mangulabnan’s fiery timeout sparked a turnaround with standout performances from players like Amil Pacinio and Lance de Castro.

De Castro's energetic play ignited his teammates as they rallied to win the third set 26-24 before securing the fourth and final sets in two hours and fifteen minutes.

Ateneo finished fifth in the season standings for the third consecutive year, while UE ended with a winless record after fourteen games.

Pacinio led Ateneo with 18 points, followed by Batas with 17 points and 19 excellent receptions, contributing to their hard-fought victory.

Coach Peter Torres expressed optimism about the team's promising future under the new system implemented this season.
