Blazers edge JRU in tight NCAA match

College of St. Benilde's Blazers secured a narrow victory over JRU Heavy Bombers in an NCAA Season 99 men's basketball game on Tuesday at San Juan Arena, improving their record to 9-4.

Will Gozum led the team with a standout performance, scoring 27 points alongside five rebounds and two blocks, including a key rejection of JRU’s Joshua Guiab's potential game-tying shot.

Coach Charles Tiu noted that despite recent improvements, his team had struggled against JRU previously but managed to mount an impressive 13-1 run led by Gozum to take control with an 8-point lead.

Miggy Corteza and Migs Oczon also contributed significantly with 18 and 14 points respectively.
