Blazers rout Red Lions, advance to NCAA finals

The College of St. Benilde Blazers secured a decisive semifinal victory over the San Beda Red Lions with a score of 79-63 on Saturday, advancing to the finals of the NCAA Season 100 men's basketball tournament.

Allen Liwag led the Blazers with 20 points and eight rebounds, while Tony Ynot contributed 17 points and four assists, mirroring the team's performance from previous seasons.

Coach Charles Tiu expressed confidence in his current squad, noting that this year’s team is more physically gifted and deeper than the one that reached the finals two years ago.

The Blazers dominated San Beda by limiting their three-point shooting to only two successful attempts out of 26 tries.

Game 1 of the championship series against Mapua Cardinals is scheduled for December 1 at Smart Araneta Coliseum, where Tiu acknowledged the Cardinals' strength and physicality.
