Blackwater defeats NorthPort 120-98 in PBA Season 49

The Blackwater Bossing secured their first win in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup with a decisive victory over NorthPort Batang Pier by a score of 120-98 on Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Blackwater took control in the second half, particularly during a dominant third quarter where they outscored NorthPort 40 to 27, thanks largely to Christian David's nine points and contributions from Sedrick Barefield and Bryan Andrade.

Sedrick Barefield led Blackwater with 20 points, followed by Christian David with 19 points; RK Ilagan added a double-double of 17 points and eight assists.

NorthPort struggled despite Joshua Munzon's standout performance of 27 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals, along with William Navarro's 24-point, 11-rebound effort but it was not enough to prevent their loss.

Blackwater improved their record to 1-2 while NorthPort fell to the same mark after this game.
