BJMP officer investigated for drug trafficking

A Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) officer from Capiz province, who was assigned at the jail facility in Dumangas town, Iloilo, is under investigation for alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.

The officer was named by a major drug suspect as his supplier of suspected shabu valued at PHP2.3 million seized during an anti-drug operation in Jaro, Iloilo City on April 2.

BJMP-6 head Jail Chief Supt. Simeon Dolojo Jr. has ordered the BJMP-6 Regional Investigation and Prosecution Division to conduct a thorough investigation into the officer's alleged involvement.

The implicated officer is currently under restrictive status while reporting at the BJMP-6 regional office in Iloilo City, pulled out of Dumangas town.

BJMP Legal Section Chief Lawyer Juniven Rey Umadhay stated that any personnel found guilty of illegal activities will face termination and dismissal, emphasizing the bureau's commitment to maintaining integrity.
