Bishop David: Police are enforcers of the law, not killers

Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines President Bishop Pablo Virgilio David reminded police during a Mass for Jerhode Jemboy Baltazar, a 17-year-old killed by cops on August 2, that their duty is to enforce the law, not kill.

Bishop David said in his homily that police are mere enforcers of the law and should serve as protectors and saviors, not killers.

Jemboy Baltazar was laid to rest on Wednesday at La Loma Cemetery in Caloocan City, escorted by family, friends, and supporters demanding justice.
