PCG monitors tugboat with 12 COVID-positive crew docked in Albay

A towing vessel and a barge from Butuan City with 12 out of 20 crew members testing positive for COVID-19 are currently docked in Albay under quarantine.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is monitoring the situation to ensure compliance with protocols, and no one is allowed to disembark or board the vessel except authorized personnel.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that the infected crew members remain asymptomatic and are being closely monitored by local health authorities.

One crew member who left the vessel in Butuan City is under quarantine along with their close contacts and family.
