98 Chinese nationals deported for illegal gaming ops

On Tuesday night, February 25, 98 Chinese nationals were deported from the Philippines following their involvement in illegal offshore gaming operations.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has scheduled another round of deportation for the coming days involving more foreign nationals arrested at the start of 2025.

Since January, the BI has apprehended over 450 foreign nationals involved in illegal POGO activities across various locations including Parañaque, Cavite, and Pasay City.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado assured Filipinos that the government remains committed to swiftly deporting illegal workers, noting more than a hundred individuals have been deported within two weeks.

The immigration chief also stated that over 22,000 POGO workers have voluntarily left the country while the remaining 11,000 are being monitored by various agencies including PAOCC, PNP, NBI, and BI.
