BI arrests Chinese human trafficker Wang Chuancong

The Bureau of Immigration arrested a 35-year-old Chinese fugitive named Wang Chuancong on Saturday for suspected human trafficking.

Wang is accused of facilitating the illegal departure of Chinese nationals to work in online gaming establishments in the Philippines by forging documents and leading a syndicate that helps individuals leave China illegally.

He was apprehended last July 30 inside his condominium unit along Roxas Boulevard in Parañaque City, Manila, with a detention warrant issued against him in April 2024 by China's Jinjiang municipal public security bureau.

As an undocumented alien with his passport canceled by the Chinese government, Wang was transferred to the Bureau of Immigration warden facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending deportation after arriving in the Philippines as a tourist in February 2024.
