BFAR assures enough fish for Holy Week despite Mindoro oil spill

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) assured sufficient fish supply for the Holy Week despite an expected increase in demand and a recent major oil spill in Mindoro.

BFAR spokesperson Nazario Briguera said the country is currently in peak fishing season, allowing them to meet high Lenten demand.

While the oil spill may affect local production in affected areas, BFAR expects sufficient supply from other parts of the country.

Initial relief has been provided to families impacted by the spill, including food and rice deliveries.
