Bayan Muna files complaint against PrimeWater for poor service

Bayan Muna filed a formal complaint with the Office of the President on Thursday against PrimeWater Infrastructure Corporation over reports of poor service and legal violations.

The group demands the cancellation of joint venture agreements between PrimeWater and local water districts, citing complaints about substandard services in areas such as Bulacan, Quezon, Bacolod City, Cavite, and Bukidnon provinces.

Consumers from these regions shared their hardships due to long periods without water and increased bills, urging the administration to hold PrimeWater accountable.

Former lawmaker Carlos Zarate called on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to order the OGCC to cancel these agreements and push for the 'de-privatization' of water utilities.

Vice President Sara Duterte suggested that the probe is politically motivated, but Zarate dismissed this claim, emphasizing it is an issue affecting residents' lives.
