Bataan reports new death, three recoveries from coronavirus

On Sunday, May 31, Bataan reported a new coronavirus death and three recoveries.

A 50-year-old man from Dinalupihan became the ninth fatality, bringing the total confirmed cases to 151.

Three individuals recovered: a 17-day-old boy, a 35-year-old health worker from Balanga City, and a 34-year-old woman from Morong, increasing the number of recoveries to 137.

As of Sunday, out of 2,593 tested individuals, 151 cases were confirmed positive, 2,217 tested negative, and 225 results are pending.

On Saturday, May 30, Bataan recorded its eighth death due to Covid-19, a 69-year-old man from Hermosa who had recently returned from the United Arab Emirates.

His swab test on May 26 confirmed he was positive for Covid-19, and his death raised the total number of fatalities in Bataan to eight.

Bataan will transition to general community quarantine starting June 1 as per President Duterte's directive.
