Bataan logs record-high 42 new COVID cases

Bataan recorded a record-high 42 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, surpassing the previous high of 29 cases in July.

The total number of confirmed cases in Bataan now stands at 702.

Thirty-two of the new cases were from Mariveles, leading Mayor Jocelyn Castaneda to declare a modified lockdown in Barangays Poblacion and San Carlos until Tuesday.

In addition, the Freeport Area of Bataan placed some companies under lockdown and conducted disinfection and contact tracing after 28 workers tested positive for the virus.
