BARMM lifts GCQ, readies quarantine for repatriated OFWs

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is preparing quarantine facilities for repatriated OFWs.

As of now, BARMM has established 90 quarantine facilities across the region to manage the return of overseas workers who may be carriers of COVID-19.

Since the declaration of a public health emergency, BARMM has recorded only 11 confirmed cases and seven probable cases, with six recoveries and four deaths.

BARMM strengthened its fight against COVID-19 by adding new members to its Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for COVID-19, including the Police Regional Office – BARMM, Western Mindanao Command, OPAPP - Cotabato City, and OCD - BARMM.

The region will lift its general community quarantine status starting May 16 after being categorized as a low-risk area by the national IATF.
