BARMM reaches 50-55% target during vax days

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) reached between 50% and 55% of its target population for COVID-19 vaccination during special vax days.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire noted that religion is not the main factor for the low vaccination rate, attributing it to difficult-to-reach areas and a shortage of health workers.

In Maguindanao, only 29% or 322,433 individuals are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to Dr. Gina Macapeges from the Integrated Provincial Health Office-Maguindanao's Technical Division.

The BARMM aims to inoculate around 15% of its eligible population during a five-day special vaccination drive in Maguindanao.
