Arcilla wins PH's lone gold in soft tennis, slips to fifth overall

Joseph Arcilla won the Philippines' sole gold medal on Wednesday at the Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia, securing the country's third soft tennis gold and raising its total to 26.

Arcilla overcame cramps and heat to defeat Indonesia's Muhammad Hemat Anugerah in the men's individual singles final.

Despite Arcilla's victory, the Philippines slipped from fourth to fifth place overall as Vietnam and Thailand maintained their strong performance.

Vietnam leads with 42 gold medals, followed by Thailand (41), Cambodia (40), and Indonesia (30). The Philippines has secured 26 golds, along with 40 silver and 49 bronze medals.
