APPO deploys 1,000 officers for Undas in Antique

The Antique Provincial Police Office (APPO) deployed around 1,000 police officers on Friday, November 1, to ensure a peaceful observance of Undas in all 52 private and public cemeteries across Antique's 18 municipalities.

Lieutenant Colonel Willy Diel, APPO Information Officer, stated that the deployment is part of an Integrated Patrol Deployment Plan for Crime Prevention and has been successful with zero major incidents reported so far.

Police Assistance Desks (PADs) were set up at cemetery entrances with personnel from various government agencies including the Bureau of Fire Protection, Department of Public Works and Highways, and disaster management offices to manage traffic and maintain order.

Diel advised households to ensure no lighted candles are left unattended at home altars to prevent fires and warned residents about potential theft by lawless elements while they visit cemeteries.

Prohibited items such as bladed weapons, alcohol, and gambling paraphernalia were clearly marked at cemetery entrances on November 1 to maintain order.
