Antique allocates funds for vaccine procurement

Antique's provincial board will approve ordinances allowing municipalities to appropriate funds for purchasing COVID-19 vaccines.

Vice Governor Edgar Denosta assured that the board is supportive of these efforts, noting that some ordinances have already been approved and include allocations for vaccine purchases.

Governor Rhodora Cadiao urged mayors to reallocate funds from infrastructure projects towards vaccine procurement during a recent meeting with the Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19.

Cadiao also announced that PHP31.5 million has been pooled, including an initial PHP10 million from the provincial government and contributions from municipalities, for purchasing vaccines by June.
