Guo fails arraignment; faces multiple cases

The arraignment of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo on graft charges did not proceed as scheduled before a Valenzuela court on Friday.

Guo posted bail of P540,000 but remains detained due to another case and contempt orders from the Senate and House of Representatives.

The graft case against Guo stems from an Interior and Local Government complaint regarding her alleged involvement in the raid of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator.

Guo also faces 87 counts of money laundering at the Department of Justice, as well as a qualified trafficking charge before a Pasig court.

A quo warranto petition has been filed against Guo by a Manila court to challenge her mayoralty, while another petition seeks to cancel her birth certificate in Tarlac.

Guo's legal team is considering further motions and comments on the case until Wednesday, September 25.
