Alex Eala inspires young tennis players in Makati

Tennis star Alex Eala encouraged young players at the PHINMA International Junior Tennis Championships in Makati City to work hard and show what Philippine tennis can achieve, reflecting on her own journey that included reaching a junior's ranking of No.3 by age 13.

Eala emphasized the importance of dreaming big but taking things step-by-step, noting that playing against top-ranked players removes pressure because there is no expectation, and expressed hope for all participants to make their country proud.

PHINMA Chairman Emeritus Oscar Hilado congratulated Eala on her recent achievements at the Eastbourne Open and Wimbledon, referencing Rafa Nadal's praise for her performance, and encouraged other players to emulate her level of commitment to tennis.

Romy Chan, President of the Philippine Tennis Academy, highlighted the sacrifices and hard work behind Eala's accomplishments, emphasizing the role of parental support and rigorous training in her success.

Eala is now focusing on upcoming tournaments including the Montreal Open in July and the US Open in August, where she previously won the Junior Division in 2022.
