De Guzman advances to women's singles final, Albo to men's final

Mika De Guzman successfully defended her title in the women's singles round of 16 and advanced to the finals at the Philippine Badminton Open on Monday, June 10.

De Guzman secured a commanding victory over Karylle Rio from National University with scores of 21-10 and 21-13 in just half an hour.

She will face fellow Lady Bulldog Ysabel Amora for the championship title on Tuesday.

National team standout Jelo Albo also advanced to the men's singles final after defeating top seed RJ Oba-ob with scores of 21-12 and 21-10 in a match that lasted 39 minutes.

Albo will compete against Clarence Villaflor for the title, while Julius Villabrille and Solomon Padiz Jr. secured their place in the doubles final by defeating Lanz Zafra and Nestojan Tapales with scores of 24-22 and 21-11.
