Alas Pilipinas lose to Vietnam in SEA Women's V.League

Alas Pilipinas Women suffered their second consecutive loss at the start of the 2025 SEA Women's V.League, falling to Vietnam with scores of 13-25, 21-25, 25-23, and 9-25 on Saturday in Thailand.

Vietnam dominated early but Alas Pilipinas managed to secure the third set narrowly before losing decisively in the fourth set for their second straight defeat.

National players Vanie Gandler and Eya Laure played key roles in extending the match into a fourth set, but Vietnam's consistent play secured their win, ensuring them a podium spot in the first leg of the competition.

With this loss, Alas Pilipinas can now go no higher than a bronze-medal finish as they face Indonesia on Sunday for their final match of the first leg. The team will then travel to Ninh Binh, Vietnam for the second and final leg from August 8-10.
