Cameroonian Collins Akowe named UAAP juniors MVP

Collins Akowe of National University Nazareth School was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the UAAP juniors basketball tournament for a back-to-back feat, becoming the first foreign student-athlete to win this award.

The 6-foot-10 Cameroonian player tallied an impressive 96.7 statistical points with double-double averages of 17.14 points and 21.07 rebounds, along with 2.21 blocks and 1.64 assists throughout the season.

Akowe promised his coach he would deliver the championship and aims to fulfill that commitment in the Finals against Adamson after losing Game 1 by a score of 77-71.

Joining Akowe on the Mythical Five are Kieffer Alas of De La Salle Zobel, Kristian Porter of Ateneo, Doy Dungo of University of Santo Tomas, and Tebol Garcia of Adamson.

Nathan Egea from the University of the Philippines Integrated School was awarded Rookie of the Year with 58.500 statistical points.
