Angara re-tests positive for COVID-19, may no longer be infectious

Senator Sonny Angara tested positive for COVID-19 again on May 2, despite having recovered earlier in April.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that the presence of the virus does not necessarily mean Angara is still infectious; it could be remnants of the virus no longer capable of spreading.

Vergeire also clarified that RT-PCR tests are used to detect the virus, not as a measure of recovery.
