Cimatu arrives in Bacolod to help curb COVID-19 cases

Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu arrived in Bacolod on Thursday to assist in controlling the city's rising COVID-19 cases.

Cimatu, who helped contain the outbreak in Cebu City, met with local officials and emphasized the importance of bringing the battle against the virus down to the barangay level.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia had previously appealed to President Duterte for additional healthcare workers due to overwhelmed hospitals.

The team also includes Presidential Assistant Michael Dino and retired General Mel Feliciano, who will hold separate meetings with city and provincial officials.
