Adamson's Shaina Nitura sets new single-season scoring record with 314 points

Shaina Nitura, a rookie player for Adamson University's Lady Falcons volleyball team, set a new single-season record with 314 points in the UAAP women's volleyball league but missed out on advancing to the Final Four.

Before the break, Nitura scored 37 points in a match against Far Eastern University, surpassing Alyssa Valdez's previous record of 312 points set in 2015.

Despite not making it to the finals, Nitura remains optimistic about her team's future and sees this season as an opportunity for growth and learning.

Nitura's impressive performance included three consecutive games with over 30 points each and a single-game record of 38 points against UP.

The UAAP volleyball league will resume on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena, where crucial matches are expected between Santo Tomas and UP as well as La Salle and Adamson.
