Adamson's Shaina Nitura excels as rookie captain with goggles

Shaina Nitura, a standout player for Adamson University in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament, has gained attention not only for her scoring abilities but also for wearing goggles during games.

Nitura, who suffers from astigmatism and vision grades of 0.375 on the right eye and 0.275 on the left, switched to goggles after experiencing irritation with contact lenses.

Despite the challenges of reduced peripheral vision, Nitura has adjusted well and continues to excel as a rookie captain, earning praise for her instinctive play and leadership potential from coaches like Ramil De Jesus.

Adamson head coach JP Yude emphasizes the importance of Nitura staying true to herself and being a positive example for her teammates both on and off the court.
