Adamson's Shai Nitura aims for bigger achievements in sophomore year

UAAP's top rookie Shai Nitura of Adamson University is looking forward to an improved sophomore year after a record-breaking debut in Season 87.

Nitura was named the UAAP Season 87 women's Rookie of the Year on Wednesday, setting new records for most points and 30-point games in a single season with a total of 371 points.

The 20-year-old player expressed that she aims to build on her achievements as she joins the Alas Pilipinas training pool and hopes to make the final national team roster.

Throughout the season, Nitura demonstrated impressive scoring abilities with a debut game record of 33 points and setting new marks for most points in a single game with 38 against University of the Philippines.

Nitura thanked God for her achievements and acknowledged the support from her teammates and coaches as she prepares to lead Adamson to a better finish next season.

Former stars like Alyssa Valdez have praised Nitura's potential, predicting that she will be even more dominant in her sophomore year.
