Adamson beats FEU 59-47 in UAAP Season 87 opener

Adamson University's men's basketball team secured a victory over Far Eastern University with a score of 59-47 in the opening game of UAAP Season 87 on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Royce Mantua led Adamson with 14 points, four rebounds, two assists, and one steal and block, while Matthew Montebon contributed 11 points and five rebounds.

After a slow start in the first quarter, Adamson rallied back in the second half to turn an early deficit into a commanding lead by the fourth period.

Head coach Nash Racela attributed their initial sluggishness to allowing players to settle in on their own and emphasized that settling down early is crucial for better execution.

Players like Matt Erolon, Mudiaga Ojarikre, Joshua Yerro, Cedrick Manzano, Anthony Fransman, and John Calisay also made significant contributions off the bench.
