PH 'more prepared' in handling COVID-19 cases after a year

One year into the pandemic, the Philippines is 'more prepared' in handling and managing coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases.

Health Undersecretary Ma. Rosario Vergeire said hospitals were overwhelmed last July and August when cases surged, but now there are more treatment options available.

Medical front-liners have learned to better handle critical cases, as shown by the maintained case fatality rate of slightly above 2%.
