92-year-old Negrense recovers from COVID-19

Ninety-two-year-old Antonina Gargoles from Himamaylan City in Negros Occidental has recovered from COVID-19, becoming one of the oldest patients to do so in the country.

Dr. Kaye Marie Yap, a local physician who treated Gargoles at home, shared on Facebook that she was too weak and had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease when diagnosed with the virus on July 23.

Despite her condition, Gargoles recovered weeks later, inspiring hope among medical front-liners struggling to cope with increasing cases of local transmission.
