Marikina: 90% evacuees return home

Marikina City Mayor Marcelino Teodoro reported Tuesday that nearly 90 percent of evacuees affected by Typhoon Ulysses have returned home.

Out of the 10,500 families initially evacuated on November 12, only 1,050 remain in evacuation centers.

Local officials are continuing debris clearing operations; Teodoro noted that the typhoon generated 980,000 cubic meters of waste, equivalent to one and a half years' worth of garbage for Marikina City.
