9th gov-funded flight brings home 374 more OFWs from UAE

Since the start of the pandemic, 374 more Filipino workers were repatriated from the UAE on Sunday, bringing the total to 3,724.

This was the ninth government-funded chartered flight organized by the DFA to assist overseas workers affected by the coronavirus.

The DFA expects to bring home most stranded Filipinos from the UAE by the end of August.

In July alone, four flights repatriated a total of 1,650 distressed Filipinos, including 78 pregnant women.

Since the pandemic began last year, about half a million overseas Filipino workers have been repatriated according to data from the DFA and DOLE.
