9 Bataan villages under 14-day lockdown due to rising COVID-19 cases

Nine villages in Mariveles, Bataan were placed under a 14-day lockdown starting September 12 due to rising COVID-19 cases.

The lockdown affects workers from multinational companies in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), as most FAB employees reside in these nine barangays.

Governor Albert Garcia stated that despite not locking down the companies within FAB, they will be indirectly affected by the lockdown in Mariveles.

On September 11, the regional interagency task force approved the localized lockdown to curb the increasing number of cases.
