7 die as Crising, habagat hit PH; Emong forms

The death toll from Severe Tropical Storm Crising and the southwest monsoon (habagat) has risen to seven, affecting over one million people, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

A new Low Pressure Area (LPA) has developed into Tropical Depression Emong, while Tropical Cyclone Dante has intensified into a tropical storm, as per Pagasa.

Five fatalities were reported in Northern Mindanao, Davao, Caraga regions, Mimaropa, and Metro Manila.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 was hoisted over four areas in Luzon due to Tropical Depression Emong.

As of Wednesday morning, hundreds of people remain stranded at ports across the country due to severe weather conditions.
