Philippines reports 945K COVID-19 cases, 16K deaths

As of Monday, April 19, the Philippines reported a total of 945,745 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 16,048 deaths.

The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 9,628 new infections on that day, bringing active cases to 141,375, with recoveries increasing by 9,266 to reach 788,322.

The positivity rate was at 15.4%, and four laboratories failed to submit data in time.

On Sunday, April 18, the DOH reported 10,098 new cases and 150 deaths, raising recoveries to 779,084 with active cases standing at 141,089.

The highest daily tally since the pandemic began was recorded on April 2 with 15,310 cases.
