Ilocos Norte records 1st Covid-19 death

Ilocos Norte recorded its first death from Covid-19 on August 29; the patient was a 62-year-old woman with pre-existing conditions.

The woman tested positive for Covid-19 on August 21 and was Sarrat's first confirmed case.

As of August 29, Ilocos Norte had 49 total cases with 33 recoveries.

Six new cases were recorded in Barangay 9 San Lorenzo, Sarrat, four days after the town's first case on August 26.

Sarrat Mayor Medrano declared a lockdown of several areas and ordered the closure of parts of Santa Rosa public market.
