PNP sets up desks at cemeteries for Undas safety

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has set up 5,784 police assistance desks across over 4,769 cemeteries and memorial parks nationwide for the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

Approximately 192,000 police officers are on duty to ensure public safety during Undas despite the aftermath of severe tropical storm Paeng which affected at least 1.95 million Filipinos.

PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. urged the public to comply with laws prohibiting specific activities in cemeteries such as possession of firearms or illegal drugs, and reminded them to refrain from bringing intoxicating substances, gambling materials, and loud audio-visual devices.

Motorists can call the National Emergency Hotline 117 or contact police assistance centers stationed along national highways and major roads for immediate help.
