OFW dies during COVID-19 swab test in Jeddah

An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia died during a swab test for COVID-19 on Monday.

Consul General Edgar Badajos reported that the OFW was using the restroom when found unconscious and later passed away despite being rushed to the hospital.

Out of 77 male distressed OFWs who underwent testing earlier in the week, 58 tested positive for COVID-19 with no symptoms.

The consulate has isolated those who tested positive and closed Building 1 for disinfection until next week.
