DOH reports record-high 2,921 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) reported a record-high 2,921 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, pushing the national tally to over 574,000.

This marks the third consecutive day with more than 2,000 daily cases.

Recoveries increased by 293, bringing the total recoveries to 524,865 or about 91.5% of all infections.

The death toll rose by 42 new fatalities to reach 12,289.

Six laboratories failed to submit data on time, and one duplicate case was removed from the total count while nine previously tagged recoveries were reclassified as deaths after validation.
