Auring affects over 49K families, one fatality

Tropical Storm Auring has affected over 49,000 families and caused one fatality, with four people missing.

The highest number of affected families was recorded in Caraga with 47,791 families, followed by Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Bicol, and Eastern Visayas.

A six-year-old child drowned in Surigao del Sur, the lone fatality reported.

Over 60 houses were damaged in Caraga and Davao Regions, with estimated damage to agriculture at PHP21.4 million and infrastructure at PHP2.8 million.

As of Wednesday, a total of 69,682 persons or 18,996 families had evacuated from their homes due to Auring's threat.
