OWWA offers PHP10K aid yearly for 4 yrs to kin of repatriated OFWs

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Eastern Visayas is offering educational aid to children of repatriated overseas Filipino workers affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

OWWA has allocated 203 slots for Project EASE, providing PHP10,000 annually for up to four years to college-level dependents of active OWWA members who lost employment due to COVID-19.

Eligible applicants include children and siblings of single or married migrant workers. Applications can be submitted online at dole-akap.owwa.gov.ph with required documents such as passports, proof of OWWA membership, and relationship proofs.

Additionally, from May 25 to September 7, the region repatriated 6,548 OFWs, with only 1.16% testing positive for COVID-19 upon return.
