Military reports 39 dead due to Typhoon Ulysses

As of Friday, November 13, the military reported at least 39 deaths due to Typhoon Ulysses, surpassing earlier estimates.

Armed Forces chief General Gilbert Gapay stated that search teams from the AFP, PNP, and BFP recovered these bodies in affected regions.

This number is higher than the previously reported 14 fatalities by the NDRRMC and 13 by the PNP on Thursday, November 12.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año noted that verification is needed to confirm if all deaths were directly caused by the typhoon, as some could be unrelated incidents like killings.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque clarified that only 14 fatalities have been 'LGU-verified' by local governments.
