Zamboanga City leads region in COVID recoveries, vaccinates healthcare workers

Zamboanga City has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 recoveries in the region with 3,939 cases recovered as of March 8.

The city's recovery rate is followed by Zamboanga del Sur with 1,127 recoveries and other provinces in decreasing order.

As of Thursday, at least 3,692 medical workers across public and private hospitals in the region have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Zamboanga City Medical Center has inoculated 528 front-line workers since the vaccination program began on March 5.

The regional health office received its second batch of vaccines on Wednesday, consisting of 10,000 Sinovac and 1,000 AstraZeneca vials.
