3 dead, 15 fishermen missing in Bicol due to Enteng

Three people died and 15 fishermen remain missing in Bicol following Severe Tropical Storm Enteng (Yagi), according to the Office of Civil Defense-Bicol on Thursday, September 5.

The victims include a 57-year-old man from Naga City who was electrocuted while fixing his shop, an 8-month-old baby girl who drowned, and a 48-year-old fisherman found in Vinzons town.

Eleven missing fishermen are from Jose Panganiban and four from Mercedes town; they were reported to be missing after venturing into fishing sites before the storm intensified.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing for the missing fishermen, while OCD-Bicol has requested air assets from the national DRRMC to assist in these efforts.

The storm also caused damage to 546 houses across Masbate and Camarines Norte, with some roads and bridges affected by landslides and flooding, leading to displacement of nearly 15,000 people.
