Davao's first COVID-19 patient improving, contact tracing ongoing

Patient PH130, the first confirmed COVID-19 case in Davao Region, is improving and in stable condition at Davao Regional Medical Center.

PH130, a 21-year-old from Pantukan in Davao de Oro, arrived in the Philippines from the UK via Qatar on February 29 and was admitted to DRMC on March 10.

Health officials have collected a second nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab sample to determine if PH130 is negative for the virus; discharge criteria include two consecutive negative tests.

Contact tracing has been conducted by DOH-11, focusing on family, friends, and areas visited by PH130 before admission.

Passengers of Manila-Davao Flight PR2815 taken by PH130 on February 29 are urged to report to health centers if they show symptoms.
